Nina says “For 7 years I was working with a team in a mid-high end fashion boutique -The Black Cat Boutique in Australia. There I had the fabulous task of dressing and styling women. I also had the awesome job of going to Melbourne fashion week and choosing ranges to stock in the shop! I had my own label manufactured by a local factory committed to Fairtrade practises which was also sold in the boutique. The business was also interested in encouraging young people to get involved in fashion and it was through this that I became involved in mentoring school leavers which led me into taking my teacher training. I firmly believe that giving people real practical skills that can bring their ideas to fruition is an empowering and wonderful process for teachers and students!”
Nina has made a big contribution to the development of Fashion Antidote Garment construction and Pattern cutting courses.
