Stage 4 – Jacket Making Skills
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
This Intermediate course is aimed at those who already have completed Stage 1 Professional Sewing Skills and Stage 2 Shirt Making Skills courses or who already have some experience but want to wish to perfect their technique to achieve a professional finish. It the ideal for those wishing to make clothes for themselves, become an excellent seamstress or to potentially set up a business or to gain industry level skills to eventually work within the fashion industry. It would be perfect for someone particularly wanting to concentrate on Trousers and Trouser production either for themselves or for a business.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
You will be provided with a ready cut calico trouser and proceed to construct the trouser with the guidance of the tutor.
The course includes:
- Labelling and washing instructions.
- Methods of production and order of construction
- Sewing seams
- Construction of contour darts,
- Construction of jet pockets with flaps
- Construction of a revere collar
- Attach a facing
- Sewing a vent
- Setting in sleeves
- Making and attaching a lining
- Finishing hem
- Pressing and finishing.
HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE DO I ALREADY NEED?
You should have completed of our Stage 1 Professional Sewing Skills course and either Stage 2 Shirt Making Skills or Stage 3 Trouser Making Skills or have learned to sew and made at least 2 garments , one with a sleeve before enrolling on this course.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
You don’t need to bring anything with you as all materials are provided.
