Andii Lindsay

Andii’s fascination with clothing and textiles began as a small child of three observing her grandmother and aunts sewing for a local London based manufacturer. A gift of “The Ladybird Book about Knitting” at five resulted in Andii teaching herself to knit and a later gift of a small sewing machine provided a foundation to explore the fundamentals of cutting and sewing as a young girl.

A full exploration style and fashion was undertaken as a teenager in the streets and clubs of 80’s London where a clash of cultures and musical subcultures provided a rich mix of inspiration. Receiving a runner up prize for design at the tender age of 17 resulted in her knitwear being produced by Naughty Clothing and distributed nationally, thus convincing Andii that her future lay in fashion. She went on to study Fashion Design and Business at the UAL, where work placements included working with London Designer Katherine Hamnett and Anthony Kwok and ensured an experience of commercial best practice. Following a short stint selling in the markets of London in the 90’s Andii was invited in New York to launch her own line of eclectic separates. The line went on to achieve sales of just over $3M in under 3 years.

More recently, in 2011, returning to her first love for textiles and fashion Andii launched her first menswear line in Shoreditch. The brand, Cock & Bull & Co was the UK’S first menswear boutique dedicated to sustainable and ethical clothing. In 2013 Cock & Bull Menswear was awarded a runner up prize by Source Awards as a Sustainable Brand Leader in the Menswear category and has continued to be featured as a high -ranking ethical manufacturer in the Ethical Consumer Magazine list.
