Lisbeth Lovbak Berg
Lisbeth has both art and design background, underlining her conceptual approach to fashion, combined with extensive fashion making experiences, ranging from evening wear to high-end casual wear.
Initially studying art, she graduated with a BA in fashion design in at Oslo University College in 2010 and launched her fashion label, L-L-B, in France in 2012, showing at London, Berlin and Brooklyn, NY, Fashion Weeks. The label explores “transformational clothing concepts”, high-end womenswear that can be worn in multiple ways and reflects Lisbeth’s passion for playing with function and creative pattern cutting, finding solutions through experimentation.
Running her own business, she pattern-cuts and samples all her collections, as well as taking bespoke orders. She also freelances in pattern making and garment construction, e.g. consulting the Romanian start-up fashion label REDU to develop upcycled products from textile waste. This, combined with her work for both high-end and high-street companies, including London based Hemyca and Philippa Lepley Couture, composes her multifaceted experience.
The basis of her work is finding ways to design more sustainably, be it through how we design a garment or how we design the business model and she recently went on to do an MA in fashion and sustainability at London College of Fashion, where she received Fashion Matters Research Award for her MA Fashion Futures Project.
Her conceptual design work has been exhibited in galleries in France and Oslo.
She is a serial entrepreneur, having started an art space, a social enterprise, as well as her own label, and she was an LCF SET Challenge Finalist with her most recent business start-up.
She has been based in London since 2016 and is currently working on sustainability-related business start-ups and consulting while running her label.
Lisbeth joined the Fashion Antidote team autumn 2017 and Lisbeth teaches Learn-to-sew classes, Home Dressmaking Classes, Couture Sewing Techniques and 1 to 1 on specific projects.
