Part of our Home Dressmaking Courses in London, this simple dress making class is ideal for those who have already learnt basic sewing techniques and want to make their first garment. It’s also suitable for those with more practice that would like to spend a day making a stylish simple dress in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
You will learn to make a stylish dress in your chosen fabric from a commercial pattern in this class. It’s a simple dress and a versatile garment to make, and we’ve chosen an easy dress that suits lots of different body types.
- Inserting a concealed zip
- Attaching a facing.
- You will them hem, press and finish your dress ready to wear.
HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE DO I ALREADY NEED?
This workshop is for those who already have basic sewing skills or have completed one of our Learn to Sew classs. It a good first garment for beginners to practice their skills.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
You will be provided with a commercial pattern. You need to bring suitable fabric.
If your fabric is 115cm wide, bring 2m 20 fabric.
If your fabric is 150cm, bring 1m 40cm of fabric, and, also, a 50cm concealed zip otherwise known as an invisible zip.
We will send you more fabric details and a list of suppliers when you book.
