1. How do I book a class?
All our courses are available to book via the website. Simple find the course you would like to join, and then book through the website with a card.
2. I don’t want to book online. Is there another way to pay?
We can assure you that paying via Paypal through our website is completely safe, however, if you don’t want to book on the website, please feel free to call the studio on 0207 375 3235 and pay with a card over the phone.
3. Can I pay in instalments?
We appreciate that sometimes funding a course can be difficult, so for our longer courses we offer the option of paying in instalments on the lead up to the course start. To pay in instalments please enquire via email, and make sure you leave plenty of time to pay. All course fees must be paid in full before the start of the course.
4. Do I need to bring my own sewing machine?
No, we provide both domestic and industrial machines, depending on your course. For our Learn To Sew courses you are welcome to bring along your own machine, but please be aware if it is markedly different to our machines, you may need to do part of the class on one of our machines for clarity on the skills covered.
5. Do I need to bring anything else?
In most our classes all materials are provided, but for some classes some materials will be needed. Please see each individual class description for more info.
6. I’m joining one of your garment construction courses, how much fabric do I need to bring?
We will send you fabric requirements along with your confirmation of the class. If you need details about fabric sooner, please email us.
7. Are classes at Fashion Antidote accredited?
No, our courses are not accredited or supported by the government. We prefer to focus on vocational, skill-based courses, after spending years working within education institutions and spending more time dealing with red tape and forms than teaching!
Our courses are practical, hands on sessions, full to bursting with skills, technique and advice. You will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of each course you complete, and we are happy to help with personal statements or references to that effect also.
8. Are you hiring? Do you have any job vacancies?
We are always on the lookout for industry experienced sewers, designers, illustrators and makers. Get in touch if that’s you!
9. Do you have a car park?
Unfortunately not! There is some space in the nearby residential areas for parking, and there is a nearby NCP on White Row, that is about 5 minutes walk away. In general though, we suggest using public transport to get to us, as we are a short walk from many different tube and train stops:

10. Where are you?
Our address is Unit F 23 Heneage Street E15LJ.
From Brick Lane, we are on the left of the street, through a gap in the houses at 21 and 25. Go through the gates and up the right hand staircase. The nearest stations are either Aldgate East [Whitechapel gallery Exit ] or Liverpool Street.
Aldgate East [Whitechapel gallery Exit] Take the Hammersmith and City line from Liverpool Street station east bound to Aldgate East. Come out of the station turn left and then left at the first turning. Walk up and Heneage Street is on the left. 5 mins walk
Liverpool Street Station come out at the Bishopsgate exit, cross the road and walk left. Bear right down the road next to the Dirty Dicks pub, on the same road as Nandos. Keep walking through Artillery Row, cross over Commercial Street, and walk through Fashion Street, then you will be on Brick lane. Turn left and Heneage Street is immediately on the right.
11. How old do I have to be to join a class?
Our courses are suitable from 16 year olds and above, and every course has a complete mixture of ages. From Students to graduates, young entrepreneurs and crafters, parents, grandparents, professionals and unemployed, we pride ourselves on he diversity of our students. We also run teen courses for 12 – 18 year old throughout most school holidays.
12. Do men join your classes?
Yes of course! We have lots of men join all our curses, and not just the menswear ones. We also have several male tutors.
13. Can we help with an overseas Visa application in to the UK?
Unfortunately not, as we are not an accredited school.
14. Can I Enrol In The School From Overseas?
Yes, we accept Overseas students into all of our courses. We often have overseas students join us for courses, and have had some amazing success stories from residents of Ghana, Nigeria, Pakistan, America and Australia alongside our native brits. See more about their success stories here.
15. Can You Help Overseas Students With Accommodation?
We do not provide accommodation at the school, and accommodation is not part of the course fee, so we are not in any way responsible for your accommodation needs, but we can offer some advice about finding cheap accommodation in the capital.
16. Do I need to be able speak English?
Yes, all or our courses require a good understanding and use of the English language.
