Jacqueline White
Jacqueline was heavily influenced as a child by the self-taught expert makers in her family. Her Shetland mother is an expert dressmaker, her grandmother was a Fairisle knitter, and her aunt a craft, crochet and embroidery expert. She did not think any of them were cool…..at the time.
She fled the net curtains of Surrey to sunny Brighton, graduating with a degree in fashion and business. She spent a year on placement at Dai Rees, the milliner, and at Bless in Paris assisting Desiree Heiss. Dai introduced Jacqueline to a world of new materials and construction techniques, whilst Desiree introduced her to a product range and attitude which defied convention. From here, Jacqueline spent two years in Milan as womenswear designer at super kitsch label Tim Camino. Her print, textile, embroidery and appliqué techniques developed to such a level she was given her own capsule denim collection at the label.
From Milan, Jacqueline came back to London where she began styling and making unique garments for bands to wear on stage. She has designed and made some bizarre outfits most recently for New Young Pony Club and Who Made Who. Jacqueline has a reputation for being able to realise and make any garment, no matter how strange. She has designed, cut and made garments for statues, hamsters, dogs and horses in adverts such as Comic Relief, Absolute Radio and Cadburys.
Miss Jacqueline White is Jacqueline’s debut collection. The t-shirt collection is naughty, pretty, clever and witty and is influenced by the incestuous dating world of East London.
