Skills Training Programme Description

Do you want to become a skilful seamstress?
Do you want to become an excellent pattern cutter?
Do you want to become a fashion designer?
Do you want to set up a fashion business?

If you wish to gain expertise and are looking for more than our regular courses then our in depth programme will provide you with all you need to become an expert in a particular subject, develop career opportunities, become freelance or set up a fashion business. Our courses are designed to offer a step by step progression route towards attaining a high level of skills in a range of subjects.

We will sit down with you to plan a personal programme of learning according to you ambitions, budget and timescale.

We want to provide an alternative, professional standard fashion education by delivering the highest level of skills training and technical, creative and business expertise without the debt or commitment of a degree or full time study. If you have a passion for learning, a desire to gain skills and ambition to get into the fashion industry we can offer a viable route to success.

Places are strictly limited with maximum numbers between 6 and 10 students. Tuition takes place in small groups to ensure each student gets one to one guidance and the best possible understanding of the subject. Feedback and assessment will be given at the end of each course.

Fashion Antidote’s tutors come from a variety of backgrounds including, fashion designers, pattern cutters, costume designers, journalists, fashion stylists and marketing practioners. All are industry experts in their own field. Most of our tutors have their own fashion labels and run their own businesses as well as being employed as lectures at London’s leading universities.

All these courses run in 3 month cycles either in the daytime or as a combination of evenings and weekends.

Timings

These packages will run 3 times a year.

• January to March
• April to June
• September to November

Each topic will also run as 1 week fulltime course during the summer from mid July through August on our Summer School.

Entry requirements

No previous experience is required but participants should have full commitment to their courses and 100% attendance is expected. If for any reason you have to miss a class will endeavour to help you catch up with missing work. Some homework outside the class time is recommended to get the full benefit from the courses.

For each person who completes a course there is a FASHION ANTIDOTE certificate that records your attendance and achievement.
