Learn To Sew Courses
Aimed at absolute beginners our Learn to Sew courses get you started with knowledge of how to choose a sewing machine, the use of the machine, stitches and seams and then take you through a wide variety of sewing and garment construction techniques.
There are courses in the day, evening or at the weekends. At the end of a course you should be confident enough to make a simple garment on your own. You don’t need to already own a machine. Machines and all materials are provided but you may bring your own machine if you prefer.
How To Use A Sewing Machine
A class for absolute beginners to learn the basic uses of a sewing machine. Learn about the machine parts and the up keep of the machine, about using the correct needles and threads and how to wind the bobbin, thread the machine correctly and adjust the tension. You will then learn how to start and finish, practice basic stitches , finish edges, hemming and make a buttonhole.

Learn To Sew And Make A Tote bag
In this beginner’s workshop you will learn how to wind a bobbin, thread a sewing machine, adjust the tension and select the correct needles and threads. You will then practice straight stitch, zig zag stitch and how to make a seam. You will be shown how to lay a pattern onto fabric, pin, and mark and cut out.
With this knowledge you will be ready to cut and construct a useful tote bag in the fabric of your choice. Patterns will be provided you just need to bring the fabric.
