Pattern Cutting

Gain a good understanding of the pattern making process to enable you to cut patterns and make garments to your own design.

On these pattern cutting courses you will learn about body measurements and how they relate to the production of basic pattern blocks.

It will cover the pattern cutting process, pattern markings, grain lines and seam allowances and you will draft size 12 skirt and bodice blocks.

You will then learn a variety of pattern cutting techniques such as dart manipulation, turning darts into seams, yokes, waistbands, facings, how to add fit and flare, how to create a button wrap, change necklines and armholes and create simple collar styles. You can then create a pattern for a simple garment of your own design.

All bookings must be made and paid for a minimum of 3 days in advance of the start date. If you wish to join a class less than 3 days before the start please contact us first. To join a course please book and pay via the website where you can pay with PayPal. If you are unhappy using PayPal, please contact us for an alternative payment option.

All fees are non refundable but if you are unable to attend a class you may send a friend along in your place or we will endeavour to transfer your booking to another date subject to availability.

If a class has to be cancelled or postponed  due to unavoidable circumstances or if a class is under-subscribed we will always try to give 48 hours notice  and you will be offered an alternative date, or a credit for the same amount of money (valid for 1 year) or a full refund.  We will not be liable for any other costs or expenses that you may incur.

Courses are taught from our studio at Unit F 23 Heneage Street, London E15LJ which is just off Brick Lane.The nearest stations are Liverpool Street and Algate East. View Map
