WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?
This class is good for beginners with an interest in fashion design. If you are thinking of setting up a fashion business or developing your own label, this class an ideal start to gain understanding of the process. You will need to complete some homework to get the best out of this class.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
During this class you will learn about how the fashion design process works in the fashion industry.
The class includes:
• The Design Process
• Research and Inspiration
• Mood boards
• Identifying the Level of the Fashion Market
• Identifying the Target Customer
• Fabric and Colour selection
• Design Project - through sketching and drawing you will explore shapes, silhouettes and details to develop towards a range of fashion garments.
HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE DO I ALREADY NEED?
This class is for beginners, so no experience needed.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Most materials are provided but you may bring an A3 Sketchbook and an A4 Layout pad. You will be required to bring along some sources of visual research to base your project on – more info on this will be sent out before the class.
WHAT CLASS WOULD YOU RECOMMEND AFTER THIS ONE?
To produce technical drawings for the collection you may want to follow up this class with our Technical Drawing for Fashion Intermediate class or you may be interested in a Fashion Business class.
